To tweet or not to tweet. . . That is the question

  1. What is your twitter handle?
I will not be answering these questions to your satisfaction, Professor. I simply do not see the point in Twitter.  Therefore, I do not have a handle.
  2. What is your primary tool for tweeting (tweeter website, tweet deck, mobile device)? Why have you chosen this tool?
I have no use for any of these tools.
  3. What difficulties did you have setting up your Twitter account?
None at all except deciding that I did not want to make a twitter account for your benefit.
  4. What good is this technology? What could it be useful for?
It is used for idle gossip and nothing else.
  5. Did you notice the opportunities for social interaction? (alternately, are you afraid that you’ll be talking to the void?)
I would be afraid that I would be talking to the void if I had decided to do this, but as I have decided not to I have no fears.
  6. What are the drawbacks of this technology? Why doesn’t everybody tweet?
I know that I don't tweet because it is a waste of time because nobody knows who is really behind the tweet. You can say that you are Ryan Gosling, but is it really him?
  7. Given your current experience, do you think that you will use this technology after the class is over?
Never. I never started using it. Thank you and I am sorry to disappoint you.

Micro Assignment 2

  1. Which entry did you write? which one did you edit?
I wrote my own. It was very easy and simple. I edited Chris' entry saying that his video was quite extraordinary.
  2. How hard was it to make an entry?
I am still trying to figure out how to insert a photo but other than that it was pretty basic.
  3. Did you notice the opportunities for social interaction? Did you speak with the student whose entry you edited? Did anyone speak to you about editing your entry? Was there any sort of spontaneous order that resulted from this exercise?
I wasn't in the lab on that Friday, so I don't really know what happened. When someone edited my entry they put a question mark next to "Mcfadden."  I realized that I had spelled Matthew MacFadyen's name wrong.
  4. What is your general impression of this tool?
It was pretty straight forward and simple, although a bit boring.

Something Interesting

I have a brilliant idea that I wanted to share with you.
Did you know that there are no good websites for young people who have physical disabilities to network and meet each other?
I know there are a few dating websites for the disabled population but they are mostly dominated by senior citizens and middle aged people. But there is nothing in all of my research for high school, college and the younger generation. I recognize that facebook has pretty much dominated the social networking world and I just wondered if you thought I would have a chance of doing something so ambitious?

Micro assignment 1

I am using the google blogging system, "blogspot." I chose this system for three main reasons.
1. I have a google account.
2. I have used blogspot before when blogging was just becoming popular. (Not that I have ever entered in anything for my old one.)
3. It is easy to use but you can still have fun with it. You use a template but from that you can personalize it.
I must admit I am very good at setting up blogs, facebook, whatever, so this was a very easy task for me to perform. If I had any difficulty it was choosing the colors.
For me, it doesn't really matter if someone reads the blog or not. Of course, I hope you all read it. It is very easy to comment in this system.
If I have something to say to the world, I would probably use this technology in the future. I think it would be interesting to make a blog for the general public. Maybe it could be about people with disabilities and their stories. Maybe it could be about my new puppy. (If I get one in the future.)
